Patton's 3rd Army mounted an aggressive drive through the Lorraine region at the end of November in order to get to the vital Saar region, an important area of heavy industry. The 21st was ordered to stop the Americans' advance at Sainte Barbara and retake the town that was recently occupied by elements of the U.S. 377th Infantry Regiment.
Objectives: Your Kampfgruppe of two platoons plus panzerjager support must capture the village to the southwest. As usual the Americans have lavish support in the form of two to three platoons of Tank Destroyers and numerous antitank strongpoints.
